The diver, this beautiful water bird and its haunting calls visits Lac Sam every summer…luckily! These fisherman can dive 60m deep and need clear water to see the fish. They are thought to mate monogamously, but new observations have shown some nasty territorial behaviour. The male chooses the nest site typically along vegetated shorelines. Both parents take turns incubating the eggs. Their population is declining so please take care. Keep your distance and slow down as you boat by Loon Island. Wakes can damage the nests.
